About Me

Kasey Poole (B.A., Grad.Dip.Tch.Ln)

I graduated from the University of Canterbury in 2008, and was lucky to begin my teaching career at Matangi School in January 2009.

I have had experience in teaching year 2,3 and 4 since starting at Matangi, and have thoroughly enjoyed all of these age groups.

As a recently trained teacher I have up to date knowledge on curriculum and other teaching practice. I have attended a number of different courses since starting at Matangi and these have helped me to increase my professional knowledge further.

In th classroom I aim to foster a creative, caring and stimulating environment for all students. I  offer as many engaging, hands-on and interesting learning experiences that cater for the wide variety of learners you find in a modern classroom. I believe it is important to arm children with knowledge and experience that will help them when making decisions inside and outside of the classroom.

Strengths: Literacy, Numeracy, Visual Art, PE.

Interests: Outside of school I enjoy a balanced life. I keep active by running and playing netball (but will give anything a go), and I really enjoy spending time with my friends and family.
