Kia ora Matangi School whānau,
Some of us would have appreciated yesterday’s announcement and are feeling a bit excited about the move to Alert Level 3 Step 2 at 11:59pm tonight. This means we can return to retail shopping tomorrow – a colour or cut from the hairdresser will have to wait though! At Alert Level 3 Step 2 our online learning will continue to be the same. I do hope you are enjoying the Country Show activities we have on Seesaw this week. I also hope you are taking time out for yourselves as well.
We continue to have an impressive level of engagement in our online learning. It’s a real pleasure reading the posts sent in from our children. Thank you for the ongoing support with this.
Please continue to make contact your child’s classroom teacher, if you have any questions at all about the learning programme. Teachers and teams continue to work hard to create programmes of work that are developmentally appropriate for all of our learners. We also want to make our learning fun and engaging; we want to connect with our children and our families. We have some exciting ideas in mind for next week as well – keep an eye out for this…I think you will like what we have planned.
As before, the majority of Matangi School learners will continue to engage in distance learning from home. For those parents and whānau who are Essential workers and need to return to work due to the change in our COVID Levels, and cannot make alternative care arrangements, please email me to start the process of joining our onsite/online supervision.
Our Google form for next week’s register will be shared again on Thursday – this needs to be completed by 6pm Saturday night please.
Stay safe, stay positive. Please, take the opportunity to go outside and enjoy the sunshine today; it’s a fantastic Spring day.
Ngā mihi,
Helena Kirkham
(Acting Principal)
