Kia ora whaanau,
You may have heard or seen the Government’s announcement this afternoon regarding the next steps to re-introducing on site learning for the rest of this year. I know many of you may have some questions about what this looks like for your whaanau and our tamariki.
In response to the Government’s announcement this afternoon I have/am;
- Made contact with our School Board,
- Touching base with our neighbouring schools,
- In the process of consulting with our staff and management team, and
- Waiting for formal direction from the Ministry of Education bulletin which will be providing further guidance.
From the collective information we receive, we will be devising a plan for our school on what next week could potentially look like for us all.
As excited as we are to have our tamariki back, we need to also take the time to implement a ‘transition back to school’ approach, whilst keeping you all informed and supported in the process.
Please appreciate that this will take a little bit of time and patience, but we hope to have a plan in place as soon as possible.
In my next email, we will be able to provide you with clear guidelines of the next stage of getting our tamariki back to school.
While we work through this detail, take some time to breathe and enjoy this wonderful weather! I hope you have been able to get out and about with your tamariki as part of our Treasure Hunt! I wonder what sites will be included tomorrow…..
Ngā mihi
Helena Kirkham
(Acting Principal)
