Matangi School is a vibrant, community-centered primary school located just five minutes from the south-eastern side of Hamilton City. In 2025, we have a roll of just under 200 students across Years 0 to 6. Our school provides a supportive, inclusive, and engaging environment where learners thrive.

Learning Structure
Matangi School is divided into three key areas:

Tōtara – Junior School (Years 0–2) 
- 
Rimu – Middle School (Years 3–4) 
- 
Kahikatea – Senior School (Years 5–6) 
Students typically join us at age 5 after attending a local kindergarten or playcentre. Most Year 6 students transition to Berkley Middle School.

Matangi School is the heart of our rural and semi-urban community. We are supported by a committed Board, an enthusiastic Fundraising Group, and engaged parents and caregivers. Annual events include:
